Our Wedding

OUR STORY Russ and Sarah met in high school in 2005 in Newark, California. After spending time together “as friends,” it didn’t take long before they realized there was something more between them. They made things official on April 23, 2006, and have been inseparable ever since. Two fun facts about their early days: Russ asked Sarah’s father for permission to date her, and Russ was also the first to say “I love you”… over the phone while Sarah was “asleep.” If you’re wondering why this love story took so long to become official, both Russ and Sarah had big dreams after graduating high school and college. Their twenties were spent growing, pursuing their goals, and figuring out life together. In 2018, they faced their first real rough patch and nearly went their separate ways. But deep down, they both knew their story wasn’t over. In 2022, they made a big decision to follow a dream and move to Los Angeles together. It was there that they experienced their greatest growth as a couple and truly matured as individuals. After building a life together in a new city, Russ knew it was finally time to begin the next chapter. On November 29, 2025, he proposed to Sarah in San Jose, California, surrounded by their closest loved ones. Now, after 20 years together, Russ and Sarah are excited to celebrate the next step of their journey as they tie the knot on Friday, October 9, 2026 in Somis, California, once again surrounded by the people they love most.

We skipped the traditional wedding party and instead chose our Wedding Captains: the people we knew would keep us on schedule, fix anything that needs fixing, hype us up and make sure everyone is having the best time! Most importantly, they are people who have loved and supported us for years, and we couldn't imagine celebrating without them by our side.

There was never a question who we wanted standing with us at the altar. Chels has been a source of unconditional love, support and joy in our lives, and having her officiate our marriage makes this day even more meaningful!

1. What is the dress code? Black formal attire, tux or suit for men, black coats ONLY. For the ladies, black formal or gowns ONLY. (please do not wear any colors, black &amp; white only.)2. What time should I arrive? Ceremony starts at 4:30pm. We recommend arriving at 4:15pm to allow time for seating.3. Will the ceremony and reception be at the same location? Yes! The ceremony and reception will both take place at Hartley Botanica.4. Is there parking available? Yes, free parking is available at the venue.5. Are children invited? This will be an adult only celebration.6. Will there be a Money Dance? YES!!7. What airports are nearby? The closest airports are: Santa Barbara Airport, San Luis Obispo Airport and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).8. Are there hotel accommodations? Yes. We have reserved a room block at Fairfield by Marriott Inn &amp; Suites Camarillo for our guests. Please book by September 9, 2026 to receive the discounted rate.9. What will the weather be like? October in this area typically has mild temperatures in the 60s-70s. We recommend bringing a light layer for the evening. Both the ceremony and reception will be outdoor.10. Will transportation be provided? Transportation will not be provided, so we recommend arranging rides in advance if needed. There are Ubers in the area.11. How Far Is the Venue from the Hotel? The Venue is about 20 minutes from the hotel with the room block.12. Can I bring a plus one? Due to space limitations, only guests listed on the invitation are invited.13. When should I RSVP by? Please RSVP by time specified by couple, so we can finalize arrangements with our vendors.14. Do you have a registry? Your presence is the greatest gift! If you wish to contribute, we have a honeymoon fund!
